Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use my existing Reflex Injector harness instead of buying yours?

    • While you could technically use an existing Reflex Injector Harness it would need to be permanently modified. This would involve cutting the Reflex side connector off, crimping on the appropriate terminals for the DME side, splicing the positive wires together and adding an in-line fuse. For this reason it’s typically cheaper, easier and you get a better end-product when purchasing our Injector Harness.

  • Why does your full kit come with an optional Ignition Coil Harness?

    • On the N54 engine the fuel injector and ignition coil harnesses run together inside the same cable management sheathing. To help facilitate the cleanest and easiest installation it’s advisable to replace the ignition coil harness at the same time. Please note that this is an optional item and is therefore not required.

  • I already have a Nexsys Motorsport B58 Coil Conversion kit, do I need still need the Ignition Coil Harness?

    • As stated above the Ignition Coil Harness is optional but recommended. The short adapter harnesses we sell with our B58 Coil Conversion kit can still be used if you opt to not purchase the Ignition Coil Harness. However if you want a cleaner, more reliable installation then we do still recommend purchasing the optional Ignition Coil Harness.

  • What port injectors will work?

    • Any high impedance Port Injector will physically work with our system as long as it has an USCAR connector (typical on EV6/EV14 injectors).

    • Since the Port Injector will be providing 100% of the fuel for the engine the quality of the injector and characterization data is critical. We do not recommend or support injectors lacking appropriate characterization data. We are utilizing the ECUTek GTR style characterization as it provides accurate control at low pulse widths (ideal for good idle characteristics), any injector with accurate data for this style of characterization will work (such as Precision Raceworks, Injector Dynamics and Fuel Injector Clinic). We have teamed up with Precision Raceworks to offer quality reasonably priced injectors.

    • Picking the appropriate injector requires a good understanding of your power goals, desired fuel, fuel system and boost. To make this easier we’ve developed a calculator that helps you determine if a certain injector, fuel pump and regulator setup are sufficient for your goals.

  • Do I need a custom tune or can I use the OTS maps?

    • For our initial release you will need a custom tune. After initial release we will be working with Wedge Performance to look at making a couple small changes that would allow OTS maps to be used with our port injection system.

  • Do I need an intake manifold with port injector bungs or can I use a PI plate?

    • We highly recommend an intake manifold with top-mounted injector bungs over a PI plate. Injector intercept angle and positioning are critical for good idle and part-throttle performance. PI plates typically have bottom mount injectors which would result in wetting of the port ceiling instead of being aimed at the intake valve. PI plates also typically have a 90 degree intercept angle where the injector is straight instead of leaning toward the intake valve.

  • Why is there a shipping charge for only the license?

    • Unfortunately to prevent fraudulent chargebacks we do have to ship a physical copy of the license key to you. The shipment needs to have a tracking number associated with it so a regular envelope will not suffice. Your license key will be available to you upon purchase (after the pre-order period) via email but you will also receive a physical copy of it in the mail. This an unavoidable situation unfortunately.

  • Can this be used together with the factory direct injection system?

    • Unfortunately it cannot, this system converts the engine to port injection only.
